Kareena Kapoor Khan shoots with her favourite co-star and you can't guess who it is
Kareena Kapoor Khan is also back to shooting after a lot of other actors from the Hindi film and television industry. And as soon as she returned to the sets, the first thing she did was to share a video with her most favourite co-star and you won't be able to guess who it is. No, it's not her hubby Saif Ali Khan.
Well, it was an adorable pet dog called Leo, and talking about it, the Jab We Met actress had a hilarious caption. Have a look right here:

Talking of the actress, recently, when asked about her take on the ongoing debate on Nepotism, this is what she had to say, "21 years of working would not have happened with just nepotism. It is not possible. I can take a long list out of superstars' children for whom it's not been able to happen for them that way."
She added, "The audience has made us, no one else has made us. Same people pointing fingers are the ones who have made these nepotistic stars right? Aap jaa re ho na film dekhne? Mat jao. Nobody has forced you. So I don't understand it. I find this whole discussion is completely weird. The idea is that today so many of our biggest stars who you have chosen whether it is Akshay Kumar or Shah Rukh Khan or Ayushmann Khurrana or Rajkummar Rao, they are all outsiders."
The actress recently completed two decades in Bollywood. She began her career with JP Dutta's Refugee in 2000 and became a star as years passed by. She went on to do films like Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Hulchul, Omkara, Jab We Met, Golmaal Returns, 3 idiots, Golmaal 3, Ra. One, Heroine, Singham Returns, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
She was also seen in films like Veere Di Wedding, Angrezi Medium, and Good Newwz. She's now gearing up for Laal Singh Chaddha and Takht. Takht will be Khan's second collaboration with Karan Johar where he directs the actress. This period drama, which is slated to release on December 24, 2021, also stars Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, and Janhvi Kapoor.

Neha Dhupia: I put out a statement, and I got six and a half lakh hate comments
Social media has proven to be both a boon and a bane. A lot of celebrities continue to connect and interact with their fans whereas a lot of them have quit the platform too. The most recent names that come to mind are Sonakshi Sinha and Sooraj Pancholi. And now, Neha Dhupia has also spoken about the online hate she was subjected to recently.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, she has her take on the world of social media and this is what she had to say, "I'm happy there are accounts which have been banned, people who've been put in their place. 10 years from now, the world will have a stronger voice. Also, why should we write 'This person got trolled'? Why give them so much encouragement?"
She added, "How can anyone sit in front of their computer, give a woman rape or death threat, or any sort of threat, and then go out and share a table with his mother and sister, to eat biryani, or whatever it is for dinner after that? Put out their names and find who they are."
She then went on to talk about herself and how she was trolled and surrounded by hate for the statement she gave out on her reality show, Roadies. She said, "I put out a statement, and I got six and a half lakh hate comments. I spent half the day trending, and the other half with people making fun of me, and saying why am I trending. Is it my fault that I was born? Am I telling you to go around and make hashtags of my name? No."
Also, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthy had tweeted this about Dhupia recently- "Peeps its not #nepotisminbollywood one shld aggravate against but chamchagiri. I mean how did #nehadhupia suddenly get all these talk shows except that she is #karanjohar s new bestie and #femina Missindia 2002!! - shes no blood relative or star kid is she" (sic)
This is what she said about the tweet, "Nobody has the right to question my friendships with whoever in the business. Either say something nice or don't say anything at all. It's the only way you will make the world a better place, then only you will teach your children to make the world a better place. It's the only way I'm going to raise my child."
Dhupia made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with Qayamat- City Under Threat and was then seen in films like Julie, Kya Kool Hain Hum, Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local, Mithya, Phas Gaye Re Obama, Singh Is Kinng, De Dana Dan, and Tumhari Sulu.

Geetika Tyagi on Class of 83: I am getting appreciated by the critics as well as people
Actress Geetika Tyagi, who's known for playing powerful roles on the screen and stage, and was last seen in Nagesh Kukunoor's 'City of Dreams' on Hotstar and film 22 yards with Barun Sobti, is now currently seen in 'Class of 83' on Netflix, playing the female lead opposite Bobby Deol. Class of 83 is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment.
On talking about her character in the film she says, "So I play Sudha who is the wife of the protagonist Dean Vijay. Without Sudha, Dean Vijay is incomplete. She is sacrificing but also a decisive person who understands her husband too well. She knows what Vijay Singh's duty means to him. Theirs was a beautiful love story. But it remains incomplete because of her death which Vijay Singh hasn't been able to come to terms with.
She added, "It's a very beautiful character. The film is about a demoted cop who trains 5 cadets as lethal assassins policemen to punish corrupt bureaucracy and its criminal allies. It's a revenge story but it's also a heart aching love story. Vijay Singh keeps reminiscing about his wife, he harbours the guilt that because of his duty he couldn't be with Sudha in her last moments. This becomes really difficult for him to accept."
The actress is getting appreciation for her role, "I am getting appreciated by the critics as well as people. They are liking the pairing a lot. The look has been liked a lot too. The role is small but pivotal. People have loved the emotional bond between Sudha and Vijay. It feels nice when someone praises your work."
Class of 83 is directed by Atul Sabharwal with whom she had worked on 'Powder' earlier. On sharing her screen space with Bobby Deol she said, "Bobby Deol was a lovely co-actor to work with. The experience was wonderful. We had exchanged a lot of conversations on films and how OTT has become a new big thing."
She will resume shooting for City Of Dreams season 2 Soon.

Raveena Tandon comes forward to support UN Human Right, 'A Fair and Free World'
Face for social change for the longest time, Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon has now joined the likes of Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood, R Balki, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Imtiaz Ali, Nandita Das and many more to show support to the human right she feels is most important. Present on the Born Free & Equal podcast by United for Human Rights, Raveena chose to talk about the human right 'A Fair and Free World'.
Opening up about the same, the diva highlights why it's important for people to be aware of their rights, in order to not get exploited. While talking about the right, Raveena Tandon was also joined by actress Sheena Chohan, South Asia Ambassador for United for Human Rights.
The actress said, "It is very, very important for us to see that all these people that are spread far and wide in this country are reached out to, to make them aware of their rights. Unfortunately, half of these people are not even aware that they have the rights our constitution states. People in different parts of the country don't attempt to chase their dreams or do things they really want to do, because of illiteracy and unawareness - because there's no outreach. The constitution, I believe, should be simplified. Basic rights need to be also taught to our children. I think it should be made mandatory. We all learn Civics and History, but I think it should be a part of the module for children to learn the basic, Civic Rights."
Mentioning why it's really necessary for our government to spread awareness education today, Raveena Tandon further adds, "It's necessary to take the awareness into the country, into our interiors, where people are living completely unaware. Because being unaware of their rights, they are taken an unfair advantage of - it could be labour rights, it could be child labour, it could be, exploitation of the very basic, simple rights to life. Once you have that education - the proper resources, where you need to go, what you need to do, how you need to fight for your rights, then people become harder to take advantage of because they are aware."
The Born Free & Equal podcast consists of well-known artists giving motivational stories about their struggles & successes to do with the human right they feel is most important as well as their ideas concerning bringing it to life. Distributed by HubHopper, the podcast provides information about the right from both the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Indian Constitution.
Supported by Raindrop Media, the podcast is available on various channels including iTunes, Spotify, Google podcasts, Amazon’s Alexa, Apple Podcast, Ganna, Castbox and more.

Naseeruddin Shah: Want to set it right by directing short film
Always game for a new adventure, Naseeruddin Shah sealed his place in the digital world with Amazon Prime Video's Bandish Bandits. Even as his performance in the musical drama is winning praise, the veteran has set his sights on a new goal — to helm a short film. The actor, who had previously tried his hand at direction with Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota (2006), says its failure had put him off filmmaking.
"My confidence as a filmmaker was badly shaken by the film I made. I am not able to summon the confidence to direct again. It's not a movie I am proud of; it didn't turn out well because of my shortcoming as a director," says Shah. However, 14 years since, he wants to take baby steps towards exploring the art again. "I want to set that right by directing a short film."

Naseeruddin Shah
For now though, Shah is taking in the joys of digital entertainment. He believes the medium is liberating for writers and filmmakers. "They don't have the burden of censorship or having to take a saleable route [for box-office numbers]. For actors, [working on a web series] is like living a long film; it is almost like doing a Shyam Benegal film."

Genelia Deshmukh on fighting COVID-19: Tough being away from Riteish, kids
When we get on a call with Genelia Deshmukh on Monday evening, the actor reveals she spent the better part of the day helping sons Riaan and Rahyl with their online classes. The actor couldn't be happier as she had missed these daily activities with her boys. On Sunday, she announced on social media that she had recovered from COVID-19 following a 21-day quarantine.
The actor reveals that the family, including husband Riteish Deshmukh, underwent tests at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, in the second week of August. "We were in close contact with someone who had tested positive, so we did the tests as a safety measure. I was sure I hadn't contracted the virus as I didn't show any symptoms. So, it was surprising when I was the only one in the family to test positive," recounts Genelia.

Genelia Deshmukh
The actor immediately moved out of their Worli residence to practise the 14-day quarantine in their suburban apartment. "Though I remained asymptomatic, I tested positive again after 14 days. So, I was recommended another week of quarantine."
Used to the hustle and bustle that comes with raising two kids, Genelia says the silence was initially unsettling. "My doctor had warned me that those quarantining feel bouts of loneliness. It was tough to be locked away from Riteish and the kids. Thankfully, Riteish, my mother and mother-in-law, Riaan, Rahyl and my friends would take turns calling me. They made sure I didn't feel lonely." She utilised the time to practise yoga and meditation, and ate clean. "I stuck to plant-based food and smoothies during this period."

Shaheen Bhatt to Alia Bhatt: The highs and lows of the past few months have in no way reduced you
Shaheen Bhatt and Alia Bhatt have often shared their fun and frothy pictures with fans on their respective social media accounts. The latest one goes a step further, or maybe takes a giant leap. Shaheen not only turned photographer for the actress but also penned an emotional and heartfelt note for her elder sister.
The sisters collaborated for a cover shoot for Elle, where Alia was the poser and Shaheen was the photographer, and this is what she had to write for the Gully Boy actress- "There is no introduction for the readers about who the 'real' Alia is because the way I see it, there is no secret Alia, no version of you that's cloaked in disguise."
She added, "Through this pandemic, and the last few months in lockdown the bright spot in an otherwise bleak time has been the time we've spent together. It has been through this time that I've watched the sparks of understanding blossom into a full-blown self-realisation. And there is something truly astonishing in that – being a silent observer to the poetry in motion that is someone's emotional evolution."
Talking about the whirlwind of emotions that the actress went through in these last five months, Shaheen Bhatt wrote, "In these past few months, I have witnessed you display the sort of resilience and emotional stoutness that I could only have dreamed of for you. I've watched as you've weathered incomparable loss and become acquainted with the unfamiliar texture of grief. As you've shed old roles and adopted new ones. As you've sifted with remarkable gentleness through external onslaught for fragments of insight and gratitude."

John Abraham: Have I got opportunities from people who have been in the industry? Yes
After months of debates and discussions about how the Hindi film industry is and how fair is it for the outsiders, another outsider John Abraham has now spoken about the issue and what he thinks about it. He sheds light on Bollywood, how this is a good place, and how he has also got opportunities from people who have been in the industry.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, he says how a person will find both the good and the bad in Bollywood. He said, "People who are accommodating, some who are not so accommodating. As a whole, the industry has been very gracious, and extremely good. Contrary to the way people are looking at our industry today, I think it's a good place, it's not that bad."
He added, "In our industry, it's only more conspicuous, it's out there in the open, and we get crucified a lot for it. Have I got opportunities from people who have been in the industry? Yes. Have I been the flag bearer for taking people from outside the industry in films I produced? Yes. I have been in both places, and there's no thumb rule that someone is good or bad. It's a very individual place. You can choose to create your own path."
The star also stated how there's a lot of negativity in the industry and how he wishes to change things and set an example. He stated, " There's a lot of negativity today in the industry, but I want to be that one person, and one of those few, however you want to look at it, who people look out to and say 'hey, no, this place is decent, look at him. He's survived, and standing here talking to us, he has nothing negative to say about anyone. He feels positive about everybody and himself, and his work. Why can't we use him as an example? If John Abraham can, we can'."
The actor is now gearing up for a lot of exciting films that include Attack, Mumbai Saga, Satyameva Jayate 2, and Ek Villain 2.

Adhyayan Suman: Don't want to get into 500 questions I have for Rhea, don't buy her story for now
Recently, Rhea Chakraborty broke her silence in an interview and spoke about the allegations that have been made against her ever since the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. Adhyayan Suman has now spoken about the interview and why he doesn't buy her side of the story.
In an interview with Zoom, the actor said, No, I don't think anyone is being targetted. This is a very long debate. I don't want to get into 500 questions that I have in my mind for Rhea. I don't buy her story for now. Whatever I have seen in the interview, I can't easily say that let's give her the benefit of doubt.
He added, Her innocence hasn't been proven yet neither has she been proven guilty yet. So, giving an opinion on either side will be wrong on my part. If you directly ask me if I believe the narrative or not, I don't believe the narrative for now. For me, I need to see a lot more things to take this side or that side."
In another interview recently, he was all praises for Kangana Ranaut and this is what he had to say, : People say that I keep talking ill about my ex. But I have always made it clear that I respect Kangana a lot. She has been through a lot and worked hard to earn the respect and fame that she enjoys today. She is the perfect example who fought the bigger people in the industry and made a huge name for herself. So hats off to her.
Suman has acted in films like Jashn, Haal-E-Dil, Himmatwala, and Ishq Click.

In an interview recently, the Kasoor actor talked about nepotism and the insider and outsider debate and this is what he had to say- “This groupism was called as campism in the early 2000s where people were saying this one belongs to YRF, Bhatt or other camps. I was never subjected to this as I always worked with a wide spectrum of producers and I was friendly to all but never close.“
He added, “ I did 9 films with Vikram Bhatt, 5 or 6 films with RGV but I was never a part of their camps. It's basically how you conduct yourself and I have been friendly to all. Karan (Johar) is even a distant relative of mine but I have never been close to anyone. I've been civil, nice and friendly to everyone and therefore I don't have any enemies."
He continued, "So I have never conciously gone into a camp or a group which is why I have kept myself away on the peripheries of this groupism vs campism ideologies." The actor also spoke about declining multiple roles and films during the early years of his career. He said, "I have rejected a lot of films and roles. It's like when they offer you a side role like a third or fourth lead then I wouldn't have become a lead actor."
The actor made his Bollywood debut as a lead actor in Ram Gopal Varma's Mast in 1999 and went on to star in films like Kasoor, Footpath, Awara Paagal Deewana, Masti, Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Hungama, Ankahee, Shaadi Se Pehle, Kambakkht Ishq, 1920 Evil Returns, Grand Masti, and Great Grand Masti.
He's also known for being one of the child artists in Shekhar Kapur's 1987 blockbuster, Mr. India.

YRF Film Festivals - Retrospective of Bollywood romance
The countdown to the golden jubilee celebration of Yash Raj Films has begun. While head honcho Aditya Chopra is expected to announce the slate of movies for the coming year on Yash Chopra's birth anniversary on September 27, he plans to take the global audience down memory lane with the studio's past blockbusters. It is heard that the suits at the production house are charting out a plan to conduct YRF Film Festivals across the US, UK, Australia, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, Switzerland, and several other countries.

Sultan
"The festival will showcase iconic movies made under the banner, including Aditya's directorial debut Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge [1995], and Yashji's swan song Jab Tak Hai Jaan [2012]. Since Yashji gave the industry some priceless songs, radio concerts are being planned where the original artistes will revisit these gems," reveals a source. The on-ground teams are working out the logistics, given the current restrictions, and a final call will be taken soon. Chopra is apparently keen to have a large-scale promotion next year too when the films announced under the YRF 50 project will be ready for release.

Veer-Zaara will be shown as part of the film festival

Work Mode On! Vidya Balan shoots for skincare brand ad
Even as some Bollywood producers are undecided about returning to the sets in the current scenario, Karan Johar's Dharma 2.0 — the ad film and digital wing of Dharma Productions — began work earlier this month. Among its first projects was a commercial with Vidya Balan for an antiseptic cream brand. The actor got a taste of shooting in the post-COVID world as she filmed the ad with director Shashank Khaitan at Mehboob Studios in Bandra in the third week of August.
A unit hand reveals that Punit Malhotra, who heads Dharma 2.0 with Garima Vora, was present at the shoot to ensure that the state government's on-set guidelines were duly followed. "He arrived on the set early morning to check the safety measures, and ensure the floor was sanitised ahead of the day-long shoot. Punit and Shashank, along with Karan, had hand-picked a skeletal crew of 25 for the project. The entire team, including the director, was dressed in PPE suits provided by the production house," says the source.

Karan Johar, Shashank Khaitan and Punit Malhotra
Johar did not want to increase the unit strength by bringing a catering team on board. "Instead, boxed meals were delivered from a star hotel close to the studio," reveals the unit member. The production house has since shot for three more commercials with Anil Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Tiger Shroff.

Ishaan Khatter: There's a different level of satisfaction in playing a hero
Ishaan Khatter chose an unconventional route to make foray in films with celebrated Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's drama Beyond the Clouds, but the actor is now set to play a quintessential Bollywood 'hero' in Khaali Peeli, an opportunity which he says has been both fun and satisfying. In 2017's Beyond the Clouds, Ishaan played a drug dealer and followed it up with Dhadak, a romantic-drama opposite actor Janhvi Kapoor.
His latest project is Mira Nair's A Suitable Boy series for BBC, in which he essays the role of Maan Kapoor, a rebellious son of a politician. The 24-year-old actor is now looking forward to his first two Bollywood entertainers ' 'Khaali Peeli', opposite Ananya Panday, and horror-comedy 'Phone Booth' with Katrina Kaif and Siddhant Chaturvedi. "Khaali Peeli is a stylish caper. It is a thrilling ride. It is my first hero role. Every character that I have played before this, be it `Beyond the Clouds' or `Dhadak', I have been aware they are not hero roles and to play them like that would have been going against the story. So there is a different level of fun and satisfaction in playing a role like in 'Khaali Peeli',' Ishaan told PTI.
The teaser of the film, directed by debutant Maqbool Khan, was released recently and received positive reviews. Produced by Ali Abbas Zafar, Himanshu Mehra and Zee Studios, 'Khaali Peeli' features Ishaan as a taxi driver whose life changes after an unassuming passenger (Ananya) boards his cab. The actor said he is equally excited about 'Phone Booth', which will be his first comedy film. "'Phone Bhoot' is going to be a big change... This is my first comedy film. It has a different rhythm and process. I am very excited about it," he said. To be directed by Gurmmeet Singh of "Mirzapur" fame, the film will be produced by Excel Entertainment.

Sushant Singh Rajput death case: CBI grills Rhea Chakraborty for over 9 hours on day 3, SIT asks the actress about SSR's medical treatment
'Why are cinemas being singled out?'
Exhibitors were looking forward to the theatrical release of Christopher Nolan's Tenet on September 18 to bounce back into business. However, their hopes were dashed on Saturday as the government announced that cinemas will continue to remain shut till September 30 as part of the Unlock 4.0 guidelines.
Several exhibitors and distributors started the online petition #SupportMovieTheatres on Sunday, urging the government to reconsider the decision.

The nationwide theatre shutdown was imposed on March 14
Exhibitor Akshaye Rathi says the nationwide theatre shutdown that began on March 14 has left the sector bleeding, with the country reportedly losing 10 per cent of its screen count in the interim. "If salons, malls and restaurants are allowed to function, why are cinemas being singled out? We have all broken into our savings to continue paying our staff, but now, we will probably have to let go of people who have been with us for decades. It's not possible to continue paying salaries with no income," he laments, adding that theatre owners have to pay property taxes, rents and electricity bills despite the shutdown. He rues that the ongoing dialogues with the home ministry, and the information and broadcasting ministry, since June have yielded no result. "There has not been any financial support from the government or an attempt to waive off the taxes."
The theatre business is estimated to have lost close to Rs 2,000 crore in the last five months, with layoffs becoming a harsh reality. "The industry employs over five lakh people; additionally, it also supports vendors who supply snacks. With no solution in sight, one can expect job cuts that run into lakhs," adds Rathi.

Sooryavanshi is slated to release on Diwali
Amit Sharma, MD, Miraj Entertainment, hopes the government compensates for the one-month delay by allowing theatres to function at 50 per cent capacity when they re-open. "If we are allowed to open as part of Unlock 5 plan, there is no point restricting the audience capacity to 30 per cent. We will negotiate for a 50 to 60 per cent seating capacity." He points out that the dry spell has not been as hard on the film industry. "Only the multiplex operators are losing money; the content creators have recovered their costs by taking the digital route." While several films have sought a digital premiere, the makers of Sooryavanshi and '83 have deferred the films' release to Diwali and Christmas respectively to avail the advantage of a theatrical run.

'83 on Christmas
Mohan Umrotkar, CEO, Carnival Cinemas, states that theatres are likely to re-open only by mid-October. "We request the government to announce the date in advance so that we can decide [on the move line-up] with the content creators," he says.
