See Pictures: Sara Ali Khan looks elegant as she visits filmmaker Aanand L Rai's office

Sara Ali Khan stepped out of her residence and visited filmmaker Aanand L Rai's office in Andheri. The actor-filmmaker duo is collaborating for Atrangi are, which happens to be Rai's next film as a director after Zero that came out in 2018.

Sara Ali Khan was wearing an elegant pink Kurta Pajama and of course, she didn't forget to wear her mask. In her signature style, she waved to the paparazzi and despite the mask hiding half of her face, she could be seen smiling.

There's another signature style of the actress and that's her humble and polite Namaste. She greeted the paparazzi with folded hands as she always does.

Khan is a complete hoot on Instagram, right from childhood pictures to graduation pictures to film shooting pictures, she knows how to entertain her fans on social media. She made her debut in 2018 with Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath that starred the late Sushant Singh Rajput as her maiden leading man. She was then seen with Ranveer Singh in Rohit Shetty's Simmba and Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal with Kartik Aaryan.

She's now gearing up for the remake of Coolie No. 1 with Varun Dhawan. The film was slated to release on May 1 this year but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, has now been postponed. And next year on Valentine's Day, she will team up with Akshay Kumar and Dhanush for Rai's film mentioned above. Titled Atrangi Re, the film was announced earlier in January this year and the actress took to her Instagram account to share her excitement about the same.

Is Ileana D'Cruz single or in a relationship? Actress spills the beans in an Instagram chat with fans

Ileana D'Cruz has often slayed on her Instagram account. Her posts have always given her fans an insight into her emotional psyche and her demeanour. And she recently had a chat with her fans on Instagram and spilled the beans on a lot of things about herself.

The first question was- "When you don't do films, how do you keep yourself entertained?" She replied- "I watch films." Given the actress keeps sharing Instagram stories on her workout sessions, someone asked her for how many hours does she workout. This is what she had to say- "So I'm doing an online workout program and everyday is a different workout. So some days 1hr 15mins, Some days 45 mins, Some days 30, and then some days I just stretch." (sic)

Another fan asked her how many tattoos she has, she said she has five. When she was asked to show them, she shared a picture and wrote- "This one is my favourite. Represents my sisters and I." (sic) Have a look right here:

The question that got the most amusing and apt answer was this- "Are you single or in a relationship?" She replied, "Well aren't we nosey." (sic) This is for all those people who show too much curiosity in other people's affairs.

And lastly, one fan asked the meaning of her name. She shared a sunshine filter to answer it and as you may have guessed, she said it means sunshine. "Shining light, the bright one," (sic) the actress said. Here's the picture:

Ileana has been a successful actress both in the South and Bollywood. She made her Bollywood debut with Barfi! in 2012 and was hailed by one and all for her charming and confident performance.

She went on to do films like Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, Main Tera Hero, Raid, and last year's Pagalpanti. She's now gearing up for The Big Bull, a film that's being bankrolled by Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit and stars Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role.

Celina Jaitly: My break from films had nothing to do with my marriage

Celina Jaitly, after years of being away from the world of films, came back for Season's Greetings, and she received positive reviews for it. Speaking to Hindustan Times in an interview now, she revealed why she took a break from acting and why it had nothing to do with her marriage.

She said, "I had taken a purposeful break from cinema because of reasons best known to me and this had nothing to do with the fact that I got married. I was just tired and exhausted of how difficult it kept getting for an outsider to continuously strive to find the roles which celebrate the actor within."

She added, "Having to constantly prove myself, I just got fed up of trying to please everyone and reached a point where I said 'okay gotta take a break', do some other things in life, recharge batteries and then whenever I'm ready, I will come back again."

When asked about what was it that made her come back to acting, the actress gave a very moving answer. "When my mom passed away last year, that's when I decided to come back to the cinema because it was one of her last wishes that I return to acting." And since the globe has been experiencing a lockdown for the last three months, she spoke about her lockdown experience too.

She stated, "We had the longest lockdown because of Italian borders close by. Italy was hit the hardest and we went into lockdown at the beginning of March. We are very blessed to be living higher on the Alpine mountains so it was much easier because you can step out and social distancing is a reality as everybody stays very far away from each other. That was an advantage as we were surrounded by nature."

Jaitly made her Bollywood debut with Feroz Khan's Janasheen in 2003. She was crowned the Ms India Universe in 2001 and success came in the form of 2005's comedy, No Entry. She was also seen in films like Khel: No Ordinary Game, Apna Sapna Money Money, Shakalaka Boom Boom, Thank You, Red- The Dark Side, and Accident On Hill Road.

Preity Zinta channelises her inner Himachali, looks beautiful in latest picture

For Preity Zinta, the maxim is simple: Once a Himachali always a Himachali. The actress proves it with her recent Instagram post.

Recently, Preity shared a moment from a beach outing with her pet pup Bruno after over 100 days. She shared a picture of herself holding Bruno on the beach. In the image she is seen dressed in a pair of shorts, lavender top and sneakers. Keeping in mind the guidelines for coronavirus, Preity also wore gloves.

"Our first trip - Finally after 104 days was the BEACH and WE LOVED it as we had the beach to ourselves. Both of us were in heaven #Day104 #Sun #Sand #Water #Dutchie #Bruno #dogsofinsta #ting," she wrote alongside the image. Preity then shared a video of herself doing push ups and her pet dog hilariously coming up to her and "sabotaging" her workout.

Recently, she paid her tribute to her 1990 release, Dil. Recalling the shoot of the film, Madhuri had taken to Instagram and penned a post, sharing how much fun she had working with Aamir Khan.

In 2018, when JP Dutta released Paltan, a re-telling of the 1967 Indo-China military clash along the Sikkim border, the film was deemed irrelevant. At the time, the neighbouring country was a strong market for Hindi films, and Indian actors — including Sonu Sood who featured in Paltan — were doing a string of Chinese movies. Cut to 2020: the two countries are engaged in a military standoff in Ladakh's Galwan valley.

The filmmaker says that the cross-border tension was simmering for a long time. "It is ironic that the audience could not [relate] to the film. It is because we have conventionally believed that Pakistan is our primary enemy. We have never perceived China as an enemy so far, but in reality, it was always a threat. When I read about the 1967 skirmishes between Indian and China, it caught my attention. I knew it was a story that needed to be told. Not many know that five years after 1962, the Indian army inflicted a heavy toll on the Chinese in a limited confrontation in Sikkim. We are strong enough to fight back any invasion from China," emphasises Dutta.

Incidentally, his film Refugee (2000) — that marked the debut of Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan — clocked 20 years yesterday. "Their successful careers give me immense pride," beams the filmmaker.

Richa Chadha: Ali Fazal took 10-minute nap after proposal

They may be two of the most outspoken artistes in the film industry, but Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal have been tight-lipped about their love story. In a cover shoot for Brides Today's July issue, the actors opened up on how they met on the sets of Fukrey in 2012, marking the beginning of a friendship that soon blossomed into love. While it was initially intended as their first magazine cover post wedding, the duo has had to postpone their April shaadi due to the pandemic.

Walking down memory lane, Chadha remembers the moment when she understood that Fazal was her big love. "We were at my house watching the 1992 biographical comedy, Chaplin. I was happy to see him enjoy the movie and grateful to have found someone with similar tastes. That is when I said, 'I love you,'" she recounts, laughing that it took him three months to say the words back to her.

She may be poised in front of the camera, but Fazal reveals it was her clumsiness that stole his heart. "She thinks I fell in love with her because of her clumsiness and honestly, it is one of the reasons. If she is eating, food will be all over the place, drinks will be spilled and cutlery dropped," jokes the actor, adding that Kuki — as he fondly addresses Chadha — had a classic 'Pretty Woman' moment in Venice. "It was at a fine dining event and Judi Dench was sitting at the next table. Suddenly, a bean went flying over! Of course, it was from Richa's plate."

The story of how Fazal popped the question is as romantic as it is endearing. Chadha narrates, "He had planned a romantic dinner on a secluded island in the Maldives. I thought it was for my birthday and didn't suspect a thing. We were sipping on champagne when Ali, being his spontaneous self, asked me to marry him. He didn't go down on his knee, nor did he have a ring, but that's alright." Before you go aww, Chadha delivers the punch line. "After that, he took a 10-minute nap on the sand. I guess he was stressed about the proposal!"

Reliance Entertainment CEO Shibasish Sarkar: Hoping things will be normal in five months

At the outset, the makers of Sooryavanshi and 83 had stated that the films would not bypass a theatrical release even as a cloud of uncertainty hung over the reopening of cinemas. Now, Reliance Entertainment has announced that the Akshay Kumar-led cop caper and Ranveer Singh-fronted sports drama will hit the screens on Diwali and Christmas 2020 respectively. The announcement comes at a time when theatres in India are a long way from throwing their doors open.

"We are committed to releasing the two films in theatres first. We are hoping that the situation will be normal in the next five months. If things are not under control by then, we will take a call at the time. As and when the government and exhibitors open cinema halls, the films will release," asserts Shibasish Sarkar, chief executive officer, Reliance Entertainment group. While Sooryavanshi was originally slated for a Gudi Padwa release, Kabir Khan's 1983 cricket World Cup drama was to hit screens on April 10.

Considering international markets are crucial to the success of such big-ticket ventures, Sarkar is happy to note that cinemas across the world are opening, albeit gradually. "For Hindi films, North America and the Middle East account for 70 to 75 per cent of the [overseas] business. While New Zealand, Fiji and the Gulf countries have opened up, Canada and some European countries are expected to follow suit. The situation in the US has aggravated in the past 10 days, but five months down the line, I am hoping that the countries will be active."

While exhibitors are apprehensive that footfalls may be drastically low when theatres reopen, Sarkar believes that the charm of the big screen will lure the audience.

He argues, "Alive, which released in South Korea this week, has witnessed one million footfalls so far." Sarkar indicates that the practice of re-releasing popular Bollywood films to attract audiences may be replicated in India. "If exhibitors want any of our films for a re-release, we will provide it to them."

This is how Deepika Padukone is preparing for Shakun Batra's film

Deepika Padukone may not be the one to discuss at length her process to get into her challenging film roles, but we do get our hands on some information every now and then about what goes behind the making of her characters.

A source close to the actress revealed that "Deepika dedicates some time of her day daily to read at least a few pages of her Shakun Batra film script. While she doesn't want to over-prepare, she also doesn't want to lose touch with her character completely as that's the film she will start shooting for after the lockdown is lifted."

If not for the lockdown, the actress would have finished one schedule of the film in Sri Lanka. Deepika had earlier shared her experience on working next with Shakun Batra and his taste in cinema which excites her to get on the sets for his next that she is a part of.

Deepika has time and again, brought some memorable characters to life on the screen. With every film, the actress has successfully brought a new character that the audiences have loved and celebrated. Be it Naina, Veronica, Padmavati or Leela- the characters are proof of the intensive preparation that she makes sure to go through each time.

Akshay Kumar on Laxmmi Bomb: In 30 years, this is the most mentally intensive role

For Akshay Kumar, essaying role of a transgender in his upcoming film Laxmmi Bomb was not easy. It was the "most mentally intensive role" he has done in his career. The actor says he had to portray the character with sensitivity and honesty so that he doesn't end up offending any community.

On Monday, June 29, he announced that the horror-comedy is going direct for a digital premiere and shared an intense poster of his look from the film, which is directed by Raghava Lawrence and also stars Kiara Advani.

"In 30 years, this is the most mentally intensive role. Never experienced it before. Credit for it goes to Lawrence sir. He introduced me to a version of me which I didn't know existed. It was different from my other characters," Akshay said while talking about his character of a transgender in the film during a virtual press conference.

"I had to be sure that I did this role without offending any community. Despite doing 150 films, I was so excited to be on the sets every day. I have never given as many retakes as I have given in this film. 'Laxmmi Bomb' has made me more sensitive about gender equality," he added.

The actor continued: "I was genuinely excited to be on set every day, pushing the boundaries, learning more about myself. This film has taught me to be even more understanding about gender equality. Be anything you want, but don't be ignorant. Kindness is the key to peace."

Recalling his experience of wearing a sari for the role, he said: "It is a lovely garment that fits all sizes and shapes. We see women in our daily lives who wear a sari and catch buses and trains, go about their daily routine without the pallu even budging an inch. I couldn't even walk in a sari, it was quite an experience for me. Hats off to how women manage it. I would say if you want to appreciate a sari truly, you should try wearing one."

Talking about his lockdown experience, he said: "For the first time, I have been at home in my entire career for so long". He added that he would have easily made two to three films during this time.

"I played games with my family, watched a lot of shows with my wife, baking with my son, taash (cards) with mom, made a few ads as well while sitting at home," he added. While no release date has been announced, Laxmmi Bomb is slated to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.

Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh to resume shoot in Mumbai; Europe schedule put on hold

Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh were only one schedule away from wrapping up the shoot of their yet-untitled romantic comedy when the nationwide lockdown was announced in March. In the three months since, the unit of the Kaashvie Nair-directed venture has been wondering about the fate of their final Europe stint. Now, as filmmakers are slowly returning to the sets, co-producer Madhu Bhojwani too is charting the way forward for the project.

"Keeping the safety protocols in mind, we will evaluate what can be shot locally. We will first film the indoor portions, and then, take a call on the pending shoot. Even as the restrictions are being lifted in India, we must proceed carefully," says Bhojwani of the cross-border love story that also features Kumud Mishra and Neena Gupta.

Given the current scenario, international travel is off the cards for the foreseeable future. Ask Bhojwani if they are planning to recreate Europe in Mumbai, in such a scenario, and she says that the makers are playing it by ear. "For now, we are adopting a wait-and-watch mode as several
countries are in lockdown."

Aahana Kumra: Self-made people too deserved to be on panel

On Monday, Disney+Hotstar announced its slate of seven films in a virtual press conference attended by Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Abhishek Bachchan. Surprisingly, the cast of Vidyut Jammwal-led Khuda Hafiz and Kunal Kemmu's Lootcase were not invited to the session despite the films being part of the OTT platform's line-up. Jammwal expressed his disappointment as he tweeted, "Seven films scheduled for release but only five are deemed worthy of representation. Two films receive no invitation or intimation. The cycle continues. (sic)"

Even as Sushant Singh Rajput's demise has sparked a dialogue about the industry's toxic star system, the press conference shows how Bollywood is far from being a level playing field. Aahana Kumra, Jammwal's co-star in Khuda Hafiz, says, "I found out about the press conference after seeing Vidyut's tweet. I have not bothered asking why I wasn't informed. I know it won't lead to an answer."

With Marzi and Betaal behind her, Kumra is not new to the web world. She is stunned at the discriminatory behaviour of the streaming giant. "The OTT platforms I have worked with have been warm, professional and democratic in how they present you. They pride themselves in equal representation. This is the first time I have seen such behaviour."

After a fortnight of discussions on the privileges afforded to stars, Kumra admits it is disappointing to see little change in the industry. "Vidyut is an outsider who has made it on merit. We must support such talent considering it's difficult to crack the industry in today's times. Self-made people too deserved to be on this panel. We all should have been part of it."

Bollywood comes home

Bhatt, Bachchan, Devgn and Kumar at the virtual session

Two months after mid-day reported that Akshay Kumar's Laxmmi Bomb will have a direct-to-web release on Disney +Hotstar, the streaming giant confirmed the news in a virtual press conference moderated by Varun Dhawan. The OTT platform announced its slate of films that will premiere between July and October, kickstarting with the late Sushant Singh Rajput's Dil Bechara. Its roster includes Ajay Devgn-starrer Bhuj: The Pride of India, Alia Bhatt's Sadak 2, Abhishek Bachchan's The Big Bull, Kunal Kemmu's Lootcase and Vidyut Jammwal-starrer Khuda Hafiz.

When Abhishek Bachchan lost films for refusing to do intimate scenes

Abhishek Bachchan has all the reasons to be excited this month for two very special reasons. His first web-series, Breathe- Into the Shadows is coming up on July 10 and the actor has already shared two teasers and quite a few posters. Also, he completes two decades in Hindi Cinema, having started his career with Refugee in 2000.

He tied the knot with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 2007 and became a proud father in 2011. In a recent interview with Rajeev Masand, the actor spoke about how fatherhood changed him as an actor. Answering this question, Bachchan said, "I know it has changed one thing. There are certain kinds of films and scenes I'm not comfortable doing anymore. I would not want to do anything in which my daughter would feel uncomfortable or something that she'd question me about, saying 'hey what's going on here?'"

He added, "I'm thankful for it, because as it is, I was very uncomfortable doing romantic scenes. So I'm not comfortable doing any intimate scenes, and I'd rather not. I say that to my directors before signing on, that if there's a scene which has a lot of physical intimacy, that's something I'm not willing to do, so you have a choice." He also went on to reveal how this led to him losing quite a few films and characters.

When asked about it, the actor responded, "Yes, and that's fine. No regrets, because I had a creative point of view, and the producer-director have a creative point of view, and they didn't want to compromise on that and I completely respect that, and it's perfectly fine." The actor, apart from Breathe- Into The Shadows, has films like Bob Biswas, Ludo, and The Big Bull coming up in the coming months.

Bachchan, on his Instagram account, has been sharing his journey as an actor through his films and videos. He has kickstarted a series called Road to 20, where he has been sharing all the films he has been a part of, starring from 2001. Armaan Malik on Sushant Singh Rajput's demise: I can't believe he just went away and no one could do anything

Sushant Singh Rajput's unfortunate demise has left a void in the country. Almost every artist in the industry condoled his untimely demise. He passed away on June 14 after he was found hanging at his Bandra residence.

Armaan Malik, the music composer and singer who worked with him in 2016's M.S Dhoni- The Untold Story, 14 days after his demise, has penned his thoughts on Twitter. Taking to his Twitter, this is what he wrote as his first tweet:

i really can’t believe he just went away and no one could do anything to help him ...

And in the second tweet, he stated- "all we need is someone to hug us and tell us it'll be ok. please be that someone for someone. sometimes your problems can become lighter by helping someone solve theirs." (sic)

Rajput made an appearance in the immensely successful television show, Pavitra Rishta, and engaged the viewers with an understated performance. Bollywood came calling in 2012. In the last seven years, the actor delivered some memorable films and performances that were both promising and piercing. Rajput's debut in the form of Kai Po Che was a breakout one, brimming with confidence and oozing with charm. A fleshed-out character named Ishaan, he delivered a brave yet vulnerable performance. Kaif completes 15 years in the Hindi film industry this week. Her first Hindi film was Ram Gopal Varna's Sarkar, and in the same month, she had Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya with Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen, and Sohail Khan. She became one of the most bankable stars in the business after the consecutive successes of films like Namaste London, Apne, Partner, Welcome, Race, Singh Is Kinng, New York, and Ajay Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

She now has some very ambitious films lined-up for release. The first one will be Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar. This will be followed by the Superhero film with Ali Abbas Zafar. Talking about this film, Zafar said, "Personally, I feel it's high time we made a larger-than-life action film with women in this country. This story has stayed with me for a long time."

He also stated, "After watching Tiger Zinda Hai, several people told me that her fight sequence was the best part of the film. They suggested that I explore a full-blown action project with her. That's when I started writing for Katrina. She has the body type to pull this off."

Zafar and Kaif have earlier collaborated on films like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Bharat.

Taapsee Pannu gets an electricity bill of Rs. 36,000, actress reacts

Taapsee Pannu has taken to her Twitter account to share with her fans how she has been charged a whopping Rs. 36,000 for her electricity bill for an apartment that's only used for cleaning purposes. It's mostly a vacant space and the actress cannot believe she has been charged so much. That's not all, she has also been charged an exorbitant amount merely for her electrical appliances that she only brought last month.

Taking to her Twitter account, she first wrote - "3 months of lockdown and I wonder what appliance(s) I have newly used or bought in the apartment only last month to have such an insane rise in my electricity bill." (sic)

Actress Sushmita Sen's performance in Aarya has left Shilpa Shetty Kundra in complete awe of her. Taking to Instagram, Shilpa on Sunday penned an appreciation post for Sushmita, calling her "tigress".

"This lockdown has taught me a few things, the first being how important it is to appreciate, if you do then acknowledge and also praise. I feel, we are so miserly with praise... so (Sunday) binge watched 'Aarya' and I have to say I'm so so happy to see you back (with a bang).
